I had a blast teaching in services yesterday. If you’re a part of South Park Church, thanks for being so interactive and eager to learn. I sense that we are starting to overcome inertia and starting to build momentum.
Have you taken your Spiritual Gifts Discovery Test yet? I have taken multiple tests over the years, and I’ve taken a few in recent weeks leading up to our campaign. According to the tool we distributed yesterday, here are my results:
1. Teaching (16)
2. Knowledge (15)
3. Pastor/Shepherd (15)
These gifts rise to the top every time I take a test like this. Not far behind are Administration (14) and Leadership (13).
As you discover, unite with others, and use your gifts, an UNSTOPPABLE FORCE will be unleashed in our church. To help you do that, here’s what’s coming in the weeks ahead:
- May 10, Properties: 1-on-1 coaching sign-up begins
- May 17, Energy: We move beyond “what” to “where” and “how”
- May 24, Variables: We will address many of your FAQ’s
- May 31, Momentum: Come ready to tell us your top 3 gifts
So I want to know what you’re thinking. What questions do you have about spiritual gifts? I’ll do my best to answer you through Sunday messages or in upcoming blog posts. But beware, a good teacher often answers with another question.
Eric,
So bummed I couldn't hear your sermon in person...can't wait until it is up on the web!
I took the spiritual gifts test and here are my results:
Leadership (16) Administration (15) Service (14) and Helps and Exhortation both were 13.
So, I guess my question is a more specific one between Helps and Service. In reading the descriptions, would Helps be more about coming along side of people in their ministry efforts and Service be more about initiating and meeting the needs of others. They seem so closely related.
This is the 3rd or 4th spiritual gift assessment I've taken and it is such a confirmation the the results come out the same. It helps me to accept that my gifts and passions are different then those that I look up to.
Looking forward to learning more about myself and others in this series!

Eric, I can't wait to discover what spiritual gifts I have to use them for the glory of our Lord. This past sermon kept me on the edge of my seat. You had so much passion and energy that it sparkled and crackled throughout the whole auditorium. Thank you for a week worth of charge

Eric, thank you so much for a great sermon this Sunday. Your passion and energy was floating everywhere. It kept me on the edge of my seat till the very end. I'm so exited we started the spiritual gifts and I can't wait to discover how i can be more productive for the kingdom of God.

Hi Eric,
I'm not sure if I have the test that was given out on Sunday or not? I had to leave a few minutes early and did not receive one Sunday. I've taken a test that Jack received from you and uses at the Jail, it came from Heartland. Anyway, I took this test and was a little surprised by the outcome, but greatly encouraged. Creative Communiation (18), Evangelism (14), Mercy and Teaching (13). I guess these sort of explain why the jail is such a good fit for me.
Anyway, my small group only meets Monthly so I will be coming to the Thursday night group at the church. I'm encouraging the rest of my group to do the same. We will all take this Spiritual Gift test on Saturday at our meeting. We're going to take it twice. Once on our own and once with the rest of the group giving input for the section "As Other See Me…". I thought it was very hard to perceive how others see me. I felt like no matter what I put down I was giving myself too much credit.
I'm glad we are covering this as a church. I'm very excited to see where this along with Peace Keepers takes us. God Bless!
Wendy
